Rodney Cripps became the senior pastor of Stough Memorial Baptist Church in November 2005 after serving as Pastor of Education & Children at Stough since December 2003.  Rodney was born in Louisiana, but grew up in Ponca City, Oklahoma where he graduated high school.  After earning a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Music Education from the University of Arkansas, he attended Dallas Theological Seminary and earned a Masters of Arts in Christian Education with Honors in the Spring of 1998. 
  One of Rodney’s passions is to make disciples, who make disciples, wherever he is at, encompassed by his personal values of sharing a clear gospel message and teaching the word line by line and passage by passage.  Hobbies include sporting events, men’s softball, racquetball, and watching action and comedy movies with his wife.


Rodney has served in a variety of ministries in some capacity for years, including: Music Minister of Crestview Baptist Mission in Ponca City, Oklahoma; Youth Minister at Rolling Hills Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas; Director of Christian Education and Youth at Lewisville Bible Church in Lewisville, Texas; Director of Student Activities of the International Institute in Lewisville, Texas; Assistant Pastor of Countryside Baptist Church in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Pastor of Education & Children at Stough.  Rodney married his wife Sarah in June of 2001, and they live with their dog, a Jack Russell Terrier named Zoey.

Steve joined the staff in June 2003 as the Pastor of Administration and Seniors Adults. He has been a member of Stough since 1989 and served in a variety of ministries including Deacon, Finance Committee, Child Development Center Board Chairman, Sunday School / Connection Group Director and Youth Advisor. Steve is a member of the National Association of Church Business Administrators.  Steve was ordained as a minister on December 31, 2006

Steve’s work experience in the business world includes managing hotels and restaurants in the Carolina’s ranging from 100 – 450 rooms. He served as an interim general manager of a prestigious country club in Winston- Salem. He was a general sales manager of a Charlotte sports talk radio station just prior to joining the staff at Stough.

One of Steve’s driving passions is to make disciples who make disciples by teaching people how to read and understand the Bible and apply it to their daily life.  Steve is married to his best friend, Tina (July 1978) and has two blessings from God named Patrick and Lindsay. Making disciples who make disciples...
Pastor Stephen has served as Pastor of Worship at Stough since 2003.  He was born in Atlanta, GA and, after graduating from high school, he earned both a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education as well as a Master’s degree in Music from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC.

Before joining the staff at Stough as a Pastor, he was a Band Director for the Fort Mill School District in South Carolina and also served as the part-time music director at Stough.  During that time, he was also very active as a freelance trumpet player and instructor in the Charlotte area.  Pastor Stephen has also served as the adjunct trumpet professor at Wingate University.  Although his primary instrument is the trumpet, as a worship leader, he is passionate about playing guitar, singing, and song writing. 

In 2008, Pastor Stephen completed a Master of Arts in Religion degree at Southern Evangelical Seminary here in Charlotte, NC. He is working on his Doctor of Ministry program at SES .  He lives in Fort Mill, SC with his wife of ten years, Wendy, his two daughters, Madelyn and Sarah,  and his dog (and running partner), Sami. 

Pastor Stephen's hobbies include running, golf, tennis, and playing his x-box 360.  His passions are spending time with his family and being a part of an “Excellent Response to God's Word”.
