1. Eternal Life
We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired Word and provides us with everything we need to know about Him and Eternal Life.(1) The Apostle John wrote his gospel to help people understand what was necessary to receive eternal life.
John 20:31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name
Consider the following questions and the answers from the gospel of John…..

2. What is Eternal Life?
Answer – Eternal Life refers to a personal relationship with God. Eternal Life is described as being abundant (exceeding, above measure or rank, excellent, extraordinary, superior) and because God is Eternal (without end), this relationship is unending.
*John 10:10b- I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
*John 17:3 - "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

3. Who gives Eternal Life?  –
Answer- God through Jesus Christ
*John 17:2 - "as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He (Jesus) should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.

4. How do you receive Eternal Life?
Answer - Believe in Jesus Christ
*John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
*John 5:24- "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.
*John 6:47- Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.
* John 11:25 - Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.

5.  What happens if I don’t believe in Jesus for Eternal Life?
Answer – You continue to be separated from God and under His Judgment …
* John 3:18 "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
*John 3:36 "He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."

And now, some questions for you….
1.Do you believe that Jesus is God’s only Son?
2.Do you believe Jesus has the authority to give you Eternal Life?
3.What do you need to do to have Eternal Life?

6. Conclusion: If you believe in Jesus Christ, you HAVE Eternal Life!!!
